"At Rosas Quilts, quilting is a labor of love"
Edna, who was once the catering assistant of the NCO Club inside the Base, not only cooks well but loves quilting. Her passion for designing and making quilts has driven her to make Rosas Quilts into a premiere quilt custom manufacturer. After the Mt. Pinatubo eruption in 1991, the City of Angeles was totally devastated and a lot of people were left homeless and dislocated. It was at this time that Romy and Edna decided to expand so they can extend a helping hand to the many families that were displaced and relocated to the different evacuation centers, by way of offering a livelihood program of hand quilting. Thus ‘Edna’s Quilts’ became not only a byword for quality handquilted bedspreads but was also the only glimmer of hope for many eruption victims after loosing almost everything that they had. Edna has since devoted herself full-time to the quilting business. "It is my love of quilting & particularly Hawaiian Quilts that led us to develop and grow the business over the years." She personally trains each staff to be meticulous in their needle arts and to be devoted to fine craftsmanship. Romy manages the business, attending to the financial, technical and logistics aspects of the business. He has been engaged in business since 1973 and is the founder of the Pampanga Gifts, Toys and Housewares Manufacturers Association. Romy is an active member of the Metro Angeles City Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) and The Philippine Exporters Confederation (PHILEXPORT).
